Mi historia
Soy José Mª Abad y nací en Murcia, España, aunque actualmente vivo en Moalboal, Filipinas. Soy fotógrafo aficionado y buceador muy activo desde 1980.
Actualmente soy instructor de ACUC, instructor de SDI y buceador de tres estrellas FEDAS-CMAS.
Comencé en la fotografía submarina alrededor de 1992, utilizando película de diapositivas y una Bonica Snapper equipada con lente macro. Después llegaron la Sea & Sea Motormarine II EX, las Nikon F60 y F100 y, más tarde, el salto al mundo digital.
I’m José Mª Abad. I was born in Murcia, Spain, although I currently live in Moalboal, Philippines. I have been an active amateur photographer and diver since 1980.
I am an ACUC Instructor, an SDI Instructor and a three-star diver with FEDAS-CMAS.
I started underwater photography around 1992 using slide film and a Bonica Snapper with a macro lens. Later came the Sea & Sea Motormarine II EX, Nikon F60 and F100, and eventually the move to digital photography.

Mi fotografía
Me gusta especialmente la fotografía macro, aunque también disfruto fotografiando peces y realizando fotografías de ambiente con gran angular.
Busco sobre todo el momento, el gesto y la vida. La técnica es importante, pero una fotografía que transmite algo tiene para mí más valor que una imagen técnicamente perfecta y vacía.
I especially enjoy macro photography, although I also like photographing fish and shooting wide-angle environmental images.
Above all, I look for the moment, gesture and life. Technique matters, but to me an image that conveys something is worth more than a technically perfect photograph with no emotion.
